Behavioral Development applies a behavior-analytic approach to the field of
human development and behavior change across the lifespan, by examining both
the acquisition of basic skills and the development of more complex behaviors.
It publishes research in cognitive and emotional development, skill acquisition,
atypical behavior development/reduction, socialization, education, and language
development, among other topics. Behavioral Development has three goals: (a)
to understand human development from a behavior-analytic perspective; (b) to
reach out to developmental specialists with the innovations that behavior-analytic
approaches have provided; and (c) to publish behavior-analytic interventions
that measure and promote development and change, specifically educational
and clinical interventions that stimulate research in evidence-based practices.
This journal is especially relevant to behavior analysts who study learning and
developmental processes through translational research and clinical application.
